وحَدَّثنا صدقة بن الفضل العمي قَال حَدَّثنا أنس بن عياض قَال حَدَّثنا مصعب بن ثابت عن العلاء بن عَبد الرحمن عَن أَبِيه عَن أبي هُرَيرة أَنَّ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم لَقِيَ حذيفة فأراد أن يصافحه فتنحى حذيفة فقال له إني جنب فقال إن المؤمن إذا صافح أخاه تحات خطاياهما كما تتحات ورق الشجر عَلَيه وَسَلَّم لَقِيَ حذيفة فأراد أن يصافحه فتنحى حذيفة فقال له إني جنب فقال إن المؤمن إذا صافح أخاه تحات خطاياهما كما تتحات ورق الشجر
English Translation
And Sadaqah ibn al-Fadl al-Ammi narrated to us, saying: Anas ibn Iyad narrated to us, saying: Musab ibn Thabit narrated to us from al-Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman from his father from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) met Hudhayfah and wanted to shake hands with him, but Hudhayfah moved away. He said to him: 'I am in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity).' He said: "Indeed, when a believer shakes hands with his brother, their sins fall away just as the leaves of a tree fall away."
