حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَال حَدَّثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ قَال حَدَّثنا شُعْبَةُ عَن العلاء بن عَبد الرحمن عَن أَبِيه عَن أبي هُرَيرة قال المستبان ما قالا فعلى البادي حتى يعتدي المظلوموَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى عَن أَبِي هُرَيرة إلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ قالا فعلى البادي حتى يعتدي المظلوموَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى عَن أَبِي هُرَيرة إلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Jafar narrated to us, saying: Shubah narrated to us from al-Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman from his father from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "When two people insult each other, the sin is upon the one who started, unless the wronged one transgresses." This hadith is not known to us to be narrated from Abu Hurairah except through this route.
