حَدَّثنا أَبُو هِشَامٍ مُحَمد بْنُ يَزِيدَ الرِّفَاعِيُّ حَدَّثنا حفص بن غياث عن الأَعمَش عَن حبيب وأبي إسحاق عَن الأغر عَن أبي هُرَيرة وأبي سَعِيد قَالا قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم إن الله تبارك وتعالى إذا ذهب ثلث الليل أو وسط الليل أو يمهل إلى ثلث الليل أو إلى وسط الليل أمر مناديا فنادى هل من داع فأجيبه هل من مستغفر فيغفر له هل من سائل فيعطى هل من تائب فيتاب عليه اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم إن الله تبارك وتعالى إذا ذهب ثلث الليل أو وسط الليل أو يمهل إلى ثلث الليل أو إلى وسط الليل أمر مناديا فنادى هل من داع فأجيبه هل من مستغفر فيغفر له هل من سائل فيعطى هل من تائب فيتاب عليه
English Translation
Abu Hisham Muhammad ibn Yazid al-Rifai narrated to us, saying: Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us from al-Amash from Habib and Abu Ishaq from al-Agharr from Hadrat Abu Hurairah and Abu Said (may Allah be well pleased with them) who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Indeed, when a third of the night has passed or the middle of the night — or He waits until a third of the night or its middle — Allah, Blessed and Exalted, commands a caller who calls out: 'Is there anyone calling so I may answer him? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness so I may forgive him? Is there anyone asking so I may give to him? Is there anyone repenting so I may accept his repentance?'"
