حَدَّثنا الجراح بن مخلد قَال حَدَّثنا مُحَمد بن موسى قَال حَدَّثنا إبراهيم بن خُثَيم عَن أَبِيه عَن جَدِّه عَن أَبِي هُرَيرة عَن النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أَنَّه قال مهلا عن الله مهلا فإن الله تبارك وتعالى شديد العقاب فلولا صبيان رضع ورجال ركع وبهائم رتع صب عليكم العذاب صبا أو أنزل عليكم العذابوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَن النَّبِيّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وَسَلَّم إلاَّ أَبُو هُرَيرة بهذا الإسناد أَنَّه قال مهلا عن الله مهلا فإن الله تبارك وتعالى شديد العقاب فلولا صبيان رضع ورجال ركع وبهائم رتع صب عليكم العذاب صبا أو أنزل عليكم العذابوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَن النَّبِيّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وَسَلَّم إلاَّ أَبُو هُرَيرة بهذا الإسناد
English Translation
Al-Jarrah ibn Makhlad narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim ibn Khuthaym narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: «Desist from sinning against Allah! Desist! For indeed Allah, Blessed and Most High, is severe in punishment. Were it not for nursing infants, men in prostration, and grazing animals, punishment would be poured upon you» — or: «punishment would be sent down upon you.» This hadith is not known to us from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) except from Abu Hurairah through this chain.
