وحَدَّثنا إسماعيل بن مسعود الجحدري قَال حَدَّثنا فضيل بن سُلَيْمان قَال حَدَّثنا خُثَيم بن عراك بن مالك عَن أَبِيه عَن أبي هُرَيرة أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم استعمل سباع بن عرفطة على المدينة فقرأ ويل للطففين فقلت هلك فلان له صاعان صاع يعطي به وصاع يأخذ بِهِوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَن أبي هُرَيرة إلاَّ عراك اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم استعمل سباع بن عرفطة على المدينة فقرأ ويل للطففين فقلت هلك فلان له صاعان صاع يعطي به وصاع يأخذ بِهِوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَن أبي هُرَيرة إلاَّ عراك
English Translation
Isma'il ibn Mas'ud al-Juhdari narrated to us, he said: Fudayl ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: Khuthaym ibn Irak ibn Malik narrated to us, from his father, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) appointed Siba' ibn Urfutah over Madinah. He then recited: 'Woe to those who give less than due.' I said: "So-and-so is ruined! He has two measures: one by which he gives and one by which he takes." This hadith is not known to us from anyone narrating it from Abu Hurairah except Irak.
