وحَدَّثنا مُحَمد بن بَشَّار قَال حَدَّثنا عَبد الوهاب قَال حَدَّثنا مُحَمد بن عَمْرو عَن أبي سَلَمَة عَن أبي هُرَيرة أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم مرت عليه جنازة فاثنوا عليها خيرا من مناقب الخير فقال وجبت ثُمَّ مرت عليه باخرى فأثنوا عليها شرا في مناقب الشر فقال وجبت ثُمَّ قال إنكم شهود الله في الأرض اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم مرت عليه جنازة فاثنوا عليها خيرا من مناقب الخير فقال وجبت ثُمَّ مرت عليه باخرى فأثنوا عليها شرا في مناقب الشر فقال وجبت ثُمَّ قال إنكم شهود الله في الأرض
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Bashar narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Amr narrated to us, from Abu Salamah, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) had a funeral pass by him and the people praised the deceased with good qualities. He stated: «It is confirmed (Paradise).» Then another funeral passed by and the people spoke of the deceased with bad qualities. He stated: «It is confirmed (Hellfire).» Then he stated: «You are the witnesses of Allah on earth.»
