حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ نا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِالْجَمَاجِمِ أَنْ تُنْصَبَ فِي الزَّرْعِ قَالَ قُلْتُ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَاذَا قَالَ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْعَيْنِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَحْفَظُهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ مُتَّصِلٍ إِلَّا بِهَذِهِ الرِّوَايَةِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِالْجَمَاجِمِ أَنْ تُنْصَبَ فِي الزَّرْعِ قَالَ قُلْتُ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَاذَا قَالَ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْعَيْنِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَحْفَظُهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ مُتَّصِلٍ إِلَّا بِهَذِهِ الرِّوَايَةِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
English Translation
Hadrat Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ordered that skulls be placed in the crops. He was asked: "For what reason?" He said: "To protect against the evil eye." This hadith is not preserved from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) through any connected chain except through this narration from Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him).
