حَدَّثنا ابن مُثَنَّى حَدَّثنا خَالِدٌ عَنْ حُمَيد عَن أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ لأُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ ابْنٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ فَكَانَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رُبَّمَا مَازَحَهُ فَدَخَلَ يَوْمًا فَوَجَدَهُ حَزِينًا فَقَالَ مَا بَالُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَاتَ نُغَيْرُهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِهِ فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ يُونُسُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَن أَنَس ابْنٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ فَكَانَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رُبَّمَا مَازَحَهُ فَدَخَلَ يَوْمًا فَوَجَدَهُ حَزِينًا فَقَالَ مَا بَالُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَاتَ نُغَيْرُهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِهِ فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ يُونُسُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَن أَنَس
English Translation
Ibn Muthanna narrated to us, Khalid narrated to us, from Humayd, from Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: Umm Sulaym had a son called Abu Umayr, and the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would sometimes jest with him. One day he entered and found him sad. He said: «What is the matter with Abu Umayr?» They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, his little bird that he used to play with has died.' So he began saying: «O Abu Umayr, what did the little bird do?» Yunus narrated from al-Hasan, from Anas.
