أخبرنا يحيي بن زكريا حَدَّثنا عُثمَان بن أبي شيبة حَدَّثنا عبد الله بن نمير حَدَّثنا مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ عَن أَبِي الْعَنْبَسِ عَن أَبِي الْعَدَبَّسِ عَن أَبِي مَرْزُوقٍ عَن أَبِي غَالِبٍ عَن أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ الله صلي الله عليه وسلم وهُو متكيء عَلَى عَصًا فَقُمْنَا فَقَالَ لا تَقُومُوا كَمَا يَقُومُ الأَعَاجِمُ تُعَظِّمُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا فَكَأَنَّمَا اشْتَهَيْنَا أَنْ يَدْعُوَ لَنَا فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارَحَمْنَا وَارْضَ عَنَّا وَتَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا وَأَدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَنَجِنَا مِنَ النَّارِ وَأَصْلِحْ لَنَا شَأْنَنَا كُلَّهُ فَكَأَنَّمَا اشْتَهَيْنَا أَنْ يَزِيدَنَا فَقَالَ قَدْ جَمَعْتُ لكم الأمر
English Translation
Yahya ibn Zakariyya informed us, Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, Mis'ar ibn Kidam narrated to us, from Abi al-Anbas, from Abi al-Adabbas, from Abi Marzuq, from Abi Ghalib, from Hadrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came out leaning on a staff, and we stood up. He said: «Do not stand as the non-Arabs do, some of them honoring others.» It was as if we desired that he would supplicate for us, so he said: «O Allah, forgive us, have mercy upon us, be pleased with us, accept from us, admit us into Paradise, save us from the Fire, and rectify all our affairs.» It was as if we desired that he would increase for us, so he said: «I have gathered the matter for you.»
