وحَدَّثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم بن حبيب حَدَّثنا المعتمر بن سليمان حَدَّثنا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ وَكان يَسُوقُ بِهِمْ سَوَّاقٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَنْجَشَةُ فَأَتَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا أَنْجَشَةُ رُوَيْدَكَ سَوْقَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَوَاللَّفْظُ لَفْظُ التَّيْمِيِّ عَن أَنَس وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ وَكان يَسُوقُ بِهِمْ سَوَّاقٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَنْجَشَةُ فَأَتَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا أَنْجَشَةُ رُوَيْدَكَ سَوْقَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَوَاللَّفْظُ لَفْظُ التَّيْمِيِّ عَن أَنَس
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us from Humam from Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah from Anas that Abu Talhah had the most property in date palms among the Ansar. And the dearest of his property to him was Bayruha' which was opposite the mosque. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to enter it and drink from its good water. When this verse was revealed: 'You will never attain righteousness until you spend of what you love,' Abu Talhah came and said: O Messenger of Allah, Allah says: 'You will never attain righteousness until you spend of what you love,' and the dearest of my property to me is Bayruha'. So I give it as charity for the sake of Allah, hoping for its reward and storing it with Allah. So dispose of it, O Messenger of Allah, as Allah shows you. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: «How excellent! That is profitable property. I have heard what you said, and I think you should distribute it among your relatives.»
