حَدَّثَنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ومُحَمد بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الكريم واللفظ لمحمد قَالاَ حَدَّثنَا سعيد بن عامر حَدَّثنا شُبَيْلُ بْنُ عَزْرَةَ قَالَ انْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَحَدَّثَنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَثَلُ الْجَلِيسِ الصَّالِحِ مَثَلُ الْعَطَّارِ إلاَّ يُحْذِكَ مِنْ عِطْرِهِ يصبك ريحه عَاصِم الأَحْوَلُ عَن أَنَس اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَثَلُ الْجَلِيسِ الصَّالِحِ مَثَلُ الْعَطَّارِ إلاَّ يُحْذِكَ مِنْ عِطْرِهِ يصبك ريحه عَاصِم الأَحْوَلُ عَن أَنَس
English Translation
'Amr ibn 'Ali and Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Abdul-Karim narrated to us — the wording is Muhammad's — they said: Sa'id ibn 'Amir narrated to us: Shubayl ibn 'Azrah said: I went to Anas ibn Malik, and he narrated to us from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that he stated: «The likeness of a righteous companion is like the perfume seller — even if he does not give you some of his perfume, you will be touched by his fragrance.» 'Asim al-Ahwal from Anas.
