وَسَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ عُبَيد اللَّهِ يَذْكُرُ عَن أبي داود حَدَّثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَشُعْبَةُ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ عَن أَنَس عَن النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَمْ نَسْمَعْهُ إلاَّ مِنْ سُلَيْمَانَ وَكان صَدُوقًا وَأَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَبَا دَاوُدَ أَخْطَأَ حَدِيثَ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ فَوَهِمَ فِيهِ أَوْ أَخْطَأَ فِيهِ سُلَيْمَانُ وَوَجَدْنَاهُ فِي كَتابِهِ هَكَذَا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَمْ نَسْمَعْهُ إلاَّ مِنْ سُلَيْمَانَ وَكان صَدُوقًا وَأَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَبَا دَاوُدَ أَخْطَأَ حَدِيثَ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ فَوَهِمَ فِيهِ أَوْ أَخْطَأَ فِيهِ سُلَيْمَانُ وَوَجَدْنَاهُ فِي كَتابِهِ هَكَذَا
English Translation
And I heard Sulayman ibn 'Ubaydillah mention from Abu Dawud: Hammad ibn Salamah and Shu'bah narrated to us from Ishaq from Anas from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with a similar narration. This hadith, we did not hear it except from Sulayman, and he was truthful. I believe Abu Dawud mistook the hadith of Hammad ibn Salamah for Shu'bah and erred in it, or Sulayman erred in it, and we found it in his book as such.
