حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حدثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ أَوْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ شُعْبَةُ شَكَّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ كُنْتُ امْرَأً إِذَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَدِيثًا نَفَعَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِمَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنِي، وَإِذَا حَدَّثَهُ عَنْهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ اسْتَحْلَفْتُهُ، فَإِذَا حَلَفَ لِي صَدَّقْتُهُ. وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَصَدَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٌ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us from Uthman ibn al-Mughirah from Ali ibn Rabi'ah from Asma or Abu Asma - Shu'bah was uncertain - from Hadrat Ali (may Allah ennoble his countenance) who said: I was a man such that when I heard a hadith from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), Allah benefited me from it with what He willed to benefit me, and when one of his Companions narrated to me from him, I would ask him to take an oath, and when he swore to me I believed him. And Abu Bakr narrated to me, and Abu Bakr spoke truthfully, that he heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say:

محمد بن مثنیٰ نے ہمیں بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا: محمد بن جعفر نے ہمیں بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا: شعبہ نے ہمیں بیان کیا، عثمان بن مغیرہ سے، علی بن ربیعہ سے، اسماء یا ابو اسماء سے - شعبہ کو شک ہوا - علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے، انہوں نے کہا: میں ایسا آدمی تھا کہ جب میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کوئی حدیث سنتا تو اللہ مجھے اس سے جو چاہتا فائدہ پہنچاتا، اور جب کوئی صحابی مجھ سے کوئی حدیث بیان کرتا تو میں اس سے قسم لیتا، پھر جب وہ مجھ سے قسم کھاتا تو میں اس کی تصدیق کرتا۔ اور ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے مجھ سے بیان کیا، اور ابو بکر نے سچ کہا، کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا:
