حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ وُجُوهٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ حَدِيثِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَشْعَثَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ وُجُوهٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ حَدِيثِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَشْعَثَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ
English Translation
Hadrat Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that a slave came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: "I am unable to memorize the Quran, so teach me something that will suffice me." He stated: «Say: 'Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest. There is no power nor strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.'» He said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is for Allah, Mighty and Majestic. What is for me?" He stated: «Say: 'O Allah, have mercy on me, sustain me, guide me, and grant me wellbeing.'» When he stood up, he gestured with his hands. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «As for him, he has filled his hands with good.»
Urdu Translation
حضرت علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک غلام رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور کہا: میں قرآن یاد نہیں کر سکتا، تو مجھے کوئی ایسی چیز سکھائیں جو میرے لیے کافی ہو۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «کہو: 'سبحان اللہ، والحمد للہ، ولا الہ الا اللہ، واللہ اکبر۔ ولا حول ولا قوۃ الا باللہ العلی العظیم۔'» اس نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! یہ تو اللہ عزوجل کے لیے ہے۔ میرے لیے کیا ہے؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «کہو: 'اللہم ارحمنی وارزقنی واہدنی وعافنی۔'» جب وہ کھڑا ہوا تو اس نے اپنے ہاتھوں سے اشارہ کیا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «اس نے تو اپنے ہاتھ بھلائی سے بھر لیے۔»
