English Translation
Imran ibn Musa al-Qazzaz narrated to us saying: Abu Umar al-Haudhi narrated to us saying: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us from Thabit from Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than one of you would be if he were on his riding beast in a barren land, and it escaped from him with his food and drink on it, and he despaired of it. Then he came to a tree and lay down in its shade, having despaired of his riding beast. While he was like that, suddenly it was standing before him. He took hold of its reins and then said out of intense joy: 'O Allah, You are my servant and I am Your Lord!' - making a mistake out of intense joy.»
