حَدَّثنا أحمد بن سنان الواسطي حَدَّثنا يزيد بن هارون حَدَّثنا سَعِيد بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبة عَن أَيُّوبَ عَن نافعٍ قَالَ سَمِعَ ابْنُ عُمَر رَجُلا يَقُولُ ياابن حَوَارِيِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنْ آلِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَإِلا فَلاوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نعلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَن أَيُّوبَ إلاَّ سَعِيد بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبة ولاَ عَن سَعِيد إلاَّ يَزِيدُ بن هارون يَقُولُ ياابن حَوَارِيِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنْ آلِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَإِلا فَلاوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نعلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَن أَيُّوبَ إلاَّ سَعِيد بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبة ولاَ عَن سَعِيد إلاَّ يَزِيدُ بن هارون
English Translation
Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us saying: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us saying: Ma'mar narrated to us from Hammam from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «The poor person is not the one who goes around to people and one or two dates or one or two morsels send him away. Rather, the poor person is the one who does not have enough to suffice him, yet he does not draw attention to himself so that charity would be given to him, nor does he stand to ask people.»
