حَدَّثنا مُؤَمَّل بن هشام حَدَّثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَن أَيُّوبَ عَن نافعٍ عَن ابْنِ عُمَر قَالَ ولاَ أَعْلَمُهُ إلاَّ عَن النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ فَقَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شَاءَ مَضَى عَلَى يَمِينِهِ وَإن شاء أن يرجع فلا حرج اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ فَقَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شَاءَ مَضَى عَلَى يَمِينِهِ وَإن شاء أن يرجع فلا حرج
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them) narrated that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «Be moderate and you will reach (your goal).» This hadith has been narrated from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) through various chains with different wordings, and this is one of them.
