وحَدَّثناه عُبَيد بْنُ أَسْبَاطِ بْنِ مُحَمد ومُحَمَّد بْنُ إسماعيل قالاَ حَدَّثنا أَسْبَاطٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمد عَن ابْنِ عَجْلان عَن نافعٍ عَن ابْنِ عُمَر أَن عُمَر نَذَرَ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَ سَأَلَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَقَالَ أَوْفِ عَلَيْهِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَ سَأَلَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَقَالَ أَوْفِ عَلَيْهِ
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them) narrated that a man asked the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): 'Which deed is most beloved to Allah?' He stated: «The most enduring of them, even if it is little.» This hadith has been narrated from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) through various chains with different wordings, and this is one of its wordings.
