حَدَّثنا مُحَمد بْنُ عُثمَان بْنِ كَرَامَةَ قَال حَدَّثنا عُبَيد الله قَال حَدَّثنا يَعْقُوبُ يَعْنِي الْقُمِّيَّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عَن سَعِيد بْنِ جُبَير عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم كَانَ لا يُفْطِرُ أَيَّامَ الْبِيضِ فِي سَفَرٍ ولاَ حَضَرٍوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إلاَّ مِن هَذَا الْوَجْهِ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم كَانَ لا يُفْطِرُ أَيَّامَ الْبِيضِ فِي سَفَرٍ ولاَ حَضَرٍوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إلاَّ مِن هَذَا الْوَجْهِ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Sufyan, he said: Salamah ibn Kuhayl narrated to me, from Ata ibn Abi Rabah, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both), who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fasted on the day of Ashura. He said: 'If I live until next year, I will also fast the ninth.' This hadith is well-known from Ata from Ibn Abbas.
