حَدَّثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ الضَّرِيرُ قَال حَدَّثنا إِسْحَاقُ عَن شَرِيكٍ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ عَن عَطاء عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ الصَّعْبَ بْنَ جُثَامَةَ أُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ عَجُزَ حِمَارٍ فردَّها وَلَمْ يأكلها أُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ عَجُزَ حِمَارٍ فردَّها وَلَمْ يأكلها
English Translation
Amr ibn Ali narrated to us, he said: Yahya narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Abu Hassaan, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivered a sermon on the Day of Sacrifice and said: «The first thing we begin with on this day of ours is prayer, then we return and slaughter. Whoever does so has followed our sunnah, and whoever slaughters [before the prayer], it is merely meat he has presented to his family.»
