حَدَّثنا رِزْقُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ومُحَمَّد بْنُ الليث الهدادي قَالاَ حَدَّثنَا الحسن بن بِشْر بن سلم قَال حَدَّثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبد الْمَلِكِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَن الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرة رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ إِنَّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ كُحْلا وَلَعُوقًا فَإِذَا كَحَّلَ الإِنْسَانَ مِنْ كُحْلِهِ شَغَلَهُ عَنِ الصَّلاةِ وَإِذَا أَلْعَقَهُ مِنْ لَعُوقِهِ ذَرَبَ لِسَانُهُ بِالشَّرِّ اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ إِنَّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ كُحْلا وَلَعُوقًا فَإِذَا كَحَّلَ الإِنْسَانَ مِنْ كُحْلِهِ شَغَلَهُ عَنِ الصَّلاةِ وَإِذَا أَلْعَقَهُ مِنْ لَعُوقِهِ ذَرَبَ لِسَانُهُ بِالشَّرِّ
English Translation
Narrated Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said: 'Verily, Satan has a kohl and a licking paste (la'uq). When he applies his kohl to a person, he distracts him from prayer; and when he feeds him his licking paste, his tongue becomes sharp with evil.'
