حَدَّثنا معاذ بن شعبة قَال حَدَّثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاك عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرة رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم يَذْكُرُونَ عِنْدَهُ الشِّعْرَ وَيَتَنَاشَدُونَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ وَرُبَّمَا تَبَسَّمَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّموَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نعلَمُ أحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ سِمَاك إلاَّ شَرِيكٌ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم يَذْكُرُونَ عِنْدَهُ الشِّعْرَ وَيَتَنَاشَدُونَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ وَرُبَّمَا تَبَسَّمَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّموَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نعلَمُ أحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ سِمَاك إلاَّ شَرِيكٌ
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would mention poetry in his presence and recite it to one another, and the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would sometimes smile. This hadith is not known to have been narrated from Simak except by Sharik.
