حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ نا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هَانِي قَالَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُعَاوِيَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الشَّارِقِ الْخَثْعَمِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنِ اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ مَا اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَا رَجُلٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ النَّارَ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ مَاشِيًا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ يَوْمِئِذٍ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عُثْمَانَ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ هَذَا الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا يُسَمِّيهِ وَلَا سَمَّى ابْنَ عَبْدِ الشَّارِقِ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنِ اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ مَا اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَا رَجُلٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ النَّارَ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ مَاشِيًا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ يَوْمِئِذٍ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عُثْمَانَ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ هَذَا الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا يُسَمِّيهِ وَلَا سَمَّى ابْنَ عَبْدِ الشَّارِقِ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak al-Mukharrimi narrated to us saying: Abd ar-Razzaq narrated to us from Ma'mar from Hammam ibn Munabbih who said: This is what Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated to us from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) - and he mentioned hadiths, among them: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'When the call to prayer is made, Satan flees breaking wind so that he will not hear the adhan. When the call to prayer is finished, he returns. When the iqamah is called, he flees again. When the iqamah is finished, he returns to distract a man, saying to him: Remember this, remember that - things he had not been thinking about - until the man does not know how much he has prayed.'
