English Translation
As for the hadith of al-A'mash, 'Amr ibn 'Ali narrated it to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the mosque when the sun had set, and he said: O Abu Dharr, do you know where the sun goes? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: It goes until it prostrates and seeks permission from its Lord to return, and it is granted permission. It is as if it has been told: Return from where you came. So it returns to its setting place. That is His saying: 'And the sun runs to its fixed course.'
