حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ نَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَزِيدَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ انَفَرَجَ سَقْفُ بَيْتِي وَأَنَا بِمَكَّةَ فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَفَرَجَ صَدْرِي ثُمَّ غَسَلَهُ بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ بِطَسْتٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُمْتَلِئَةٍ حِكْمَةً وَإِيمَانًا فَأَفْرَغَهَا فِي صَدْرِي ثُمَّ أَطْبَقَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ فَعَرَجَ بِي إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَلَمَّا جِئْنَا سَمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ لِخَازِنِ السَّمَاءِ افْتَحْ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ هَلْ مَعَكَ أَحَدٌ قَالَ مَعِي مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَفَتَحَ فَلَمَّا عَلَوْنَا سَمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا فَإِذَا أَنَا بِرَجُلٍ قَاعِدٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ وَالِابْنِ الصَّالِحِ قُلْتُ لِجِبْرِيلَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا آدَمُ ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِي حَتَّى أَتَى سَمَاءَ الثَّانِيَةِ فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ لِخَازِنِهَا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ لِخَازِنِ سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ إِدْرِيسَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَهَذَا الْكَلَامُ قَدْ رُوِيَ نَحْوَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ انَفَرَجَ سَقْفُ بَيْتِي وَأَنَا بِمَكَّةَ فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَفَرَجَ صَدْرِي ثُمَّ غَسَلَهُ بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ بِطَسْتٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُمْتَلِئَةٍ حِكْمَةً وَإِيمَانًا فَأَفْرَغَهَا فِي صَدْرِي ثُمَّ أَطْبَقَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ فَعَرَجَ بِي إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَلَمَّا جِئْنَا سَمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ لِخَازِنِ السَّمَاءِ افْتَحْ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ هَلْ مَعَكَ أَحَدٌ قَالَ مَعِي مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَفَتَحَ فَلَمَّا عَلَوْنَا سَمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا فَإِذَا أَنَا بِرَجُلٍ قَاعِدٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ وَالِابْنِ الصَّالِحِ قُلْتُ لِجِبْرِيلَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا آدَمُ ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِي حَتَّى أَتَى سَمَاءَ الثَّانِيَةِ فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ لِخَازِنِهَا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ لِخَازِنِ سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ إِدْرِيسَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَهَذَا الْكَلَامُ قَدْ رُوِيَ نَحْوَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
English Translation
Umar ibn al-Khattab narrated to me, he said: Abdullah ibn Salih narrated to us, he said: al-Layth ibn Sa'd narrated to us, he said: Yunus -- meaning ibn Yazid -- narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: Abu Dharr used to narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The roof of my house opened while I was in Makkah, and Jibril (peace be upon him) descended and split open my chest, then washed it with Zamzam water. Then he brought a golden basin filled with wisdom and faith, and poured it into my chest, then closed it. Then he took my hand -- I think he said -- and ascended with me to the heavens. When we reached the lowest heaven, Jibril said to the keeper of heaven: Open. He said: Who is this? He said: Jibril. He said: Is there anyone with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is with me. He said: Has he been sent for? He said: Yes. So he opened. When we ascended to the lowest heaven, there was a man sitting. He said: Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous son. I said to Jibril: Who is this? He said: This is Adam. Then he ascended with me until he reached the second heaven. Jibril said to its keeper the same as he said to the keeper of the lowest heaven." Anas said: He mentioned that he found in the heavens Idris, Musa, Isa, and Ibrahim, and that he found Ibrahim in the sixth heaven, who said: Welcome to the righteous Prophet. I said: Who is this? He said: Ibrahim. This narration has been reported similarly from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) through other routes, but we do not know of it being narrated from Abu Dharr except through this route.
