حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِي عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ وَجَدْنَا صَحِيفَةً فِي قِرَابِ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ وَفَاتِهِ فِيهَا مَكْتُوبٌ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ فَرِّقُوا بَيْنَ مَضَاجِعِ الْغِلْمَانِ وَالْجَوَارِي وَالْإِخْوَةِ وَالْأَخَوَاتِ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ وَاضْرِبُوا أَبْنَاءَكُمْ عَلَى الصَّلَاةَ إِذَا بَلَغُوا أَظُنُّهُ تِسْعًا مَلْعُونٌ مَلْعُونٌ مَنَ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ قَوْمِهِ أَوْ إِلَى غَيْرِ مَوَالِيهِ مَلْعُونٌ مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ شَيْئًا مِنْ تُخُومِ الْأَرْضِ يَعْنِي بِذَلِكَ طُرُقَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ قِرَابِ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ وَفَاتِهِ فِيهَا مَكْتُوبٌ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ فَرِّقُوا بَيْنَ مَضَاجِعِ الْغِلْمَانِ وَالْجَوَارِي وَالْإِخْوَةِ وَالْأَخَوَاتِ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ وَاضْرِبُوا أَبْنَاءَكُمْ عَلَى الصَّلَاةَ إِذَا بَلَغُوا أَظُنُّهُ تِسْعًا مَلْعُونٌ مَلْعُونٌ مَنَ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ قَوْمِهِ أَوْ إِلَى غَيْرِ مَوَالِيهِ مَلْعُونٌ مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ شَيْئًا مِنْ تُخُومِ الْأَرْضِ يَعْنِي بِذَلِكَ طُرُقَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
English Translation
Ghassan ibn Ubaydullah narrated to us, he said: Yusuf ibn Nafi' narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Mawali narrated to us, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Rafi', from his father (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: We found a document in the sheath of the sword of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) after his death. Written in it was: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Separate the sleeping places of boys and girls, and brothers and sisters, at seven years of age. Discipline your children for prayer when they reach -- I think he said -- nine. Cursed, cursed is he who claims lineage to other than his people or to other than his patrons. Cursed is he who encroaches upon any of the boundaries of the land -- meaning the roads of the Muslims.
