وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ وَاصِلٍ قَالَ نَا عَوْنُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ قَالَ نَا سَهْلُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ قَالَ نَا بُرَيْدَةُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سَفِينَةَ وَكَانَ خَادِمًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَوَايِرُ فَصَنَعْتُ لَهُ بَعْضَهَا فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ لَكَ هَذَا فَقُلْتُ مِنَ الَّذِي أُتِيتَ بِهِ أَمْسِ قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ لَكَ لَا تَدَّخِرَنَّ لِغَدٍ طَعَامًا لِكُلِّ يَوْمٍ رِزْقُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْ عَلَيَّ أَحَبَّ خَلْقِكَ إِلَيْكَ يَأْكُلُ مَعِي مِنْ هَذَا الطَّيْرِ فَدَخَلَ عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ وَإِلَيَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَوَايِرُ فَصَنَعْتُ لَهُ بَعْضَهَا فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ لَكَ هَذَا فَقُلْتُ مِنَ الَّذِي أُتِيتَ بِهِ أَمْسِ قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ لَكَ لَا تَدَّخِرَنَّ لِغَدٍ طَعَامًا لِكُلِّ يَوْمٍ رِزْقُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْ عَلَيَّ أَحَبَّ خَلْقِكَ إِلَيْكَ يَأْكُلُ مَعِي مِنْ هَذَا الطَّيْرِ فَدَخَلَ عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ وَإِلَيَّ
English Translation
'Abd al-A'la ibn Wasil narrated to us, he said: 'Awn ibn Sallam narrated to us, he said: Sahl ibn Shu'ayb narrated to us, he said: Buraydah ibn Sufyan narrated to us, from Safinah — who was a servant of the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him — who said: Some birds were gifted to the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, and I prepared some of them for him. When morning came, I brought it to him and he said: "Where did you get this?" I said: "From what was brought to you yesterday." He said: "Did I not tell you not to store food for the next day? Every day has its own provision." Then he said: "O Allah, bring to me the most beloved of Your creation to You, to eat with me from this bird." Then 'Ali entered, and he said: "O Allah, and to me as well."
