حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ نَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ وَصَاحِبٌ لَهُ بِنَاسٍ وَفِتْيَةٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَدْ حَلُّوا أُزُرَهُمْ فَهُمْ عُرَاةٌ يَتَجَادَلُونَ بِهَا قَالَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ فَلَمَّا مَرَرْنَا بِهِمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ كَذَا فَدَعُوهُمْ ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا أَبْصَرُوهُ تَبَادَرُوا فَرَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُغْضَبًا وَكُنْتُ وَرَاءَ الْحُجْرَةِ أَسْمَعْهُ يَقُولُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ لَا مِنَ اللَّهِ اسْتَحْيَوْا وَلَا مِنْ رَسُولِهِ اسْتَتَرُوا قُرَيْشٍ قَدْ حَلُّوا أُزُرَهُمْ فَهُمْ عُرَاةٌ يَتَجَادَلُونَ بِهَا قَالَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ فَلَمَّا مَرَرْنَا بِهِمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ كَذَا فَدَعُوهُمْ ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا أَبْصَرُوهُ تَبَادَرُوا فَرَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُغْضَبًا وَكُنْتُ وَرَاءَ الْحُجْرَةِ أَسْمَعْهُ يَقُولُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ لَا مِنَ اللَّهِ اسْتَحْيَوْا وَلَا مِنْ رَسُولِهِ اسْتَتَرُوا
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Aswad narrated to us, he said: 'Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Ziyad al-Hadrami, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Jaz', that he and a companion of his passed by some people — young men from Quraysh who had loosened their garments and were naked, wrestling with each other. Al-Zubaydi said: When we passed by them, they said: "These people are such-and-such, so leave them." Then the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, came out upon them, and when they saw him, they hurried to cover themselves. The Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, went back angered, and I was behind the chamber hearing him say: "Glory be to Allah! They had no shame before Allah and they did not cover themselves before His Messenger."
