حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ نَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ نَا عُيَيْنَةُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ ذَكَرْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ عِنْدَ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ فَقَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَلَسْتُ مُلْتَمِسَهَا إِلَّا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ بَعْدَ حَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الْتَمِسُوهَا فِي تَاسِعَةٍ تَبْقَى أَوْ سَابِعَةٍ تَبْقَى أَوْ خَامِسَةٍ تَبْقَى أَوْ ثَالِثَةٍ تَبْقَى وَآخِرِ لَيْلَةً قَالَ فَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرَةَ يُصَلِّي عِشْرِينَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَمَا صَلَّى فِي سَائِرِ السَّنَةِ فَإِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ اجْتَهَدَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ بَعْدَ حَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الْتَمِسُوهَا فِي تَاسِعَةٍ تَبْقَى أَوْ سَابِعَةٍ تَبْقَى أَوْ خَامِسَةٍ تَبْقَى أَوْ ثَالِثَةٍ تَبْقَى وَآخِرِ لَيْلَةً قَالَ فَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرَةَ يُصَلِّي عِشْرِينَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَمَا صَلَّى فِي سَائِرِ السَّنَةِ فَإِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ اجْتَهَدَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ
English Translation
Yahya ibn Hakim narrated to us, he said: Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Uyaynah narrated to us, from his father, who said: I mentioned the Night of Decree in the presence of Abu Bakrah, and he said: "As for me, I do not seek it except in the last ten [nights of Ramadan], after a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, saying: 'Seek it on the ninth remaining, or the seventh remaining, or the fifth remaining, or the third remaining, or the last night.'" He said: Abu Bakrah used to pray [extra prayers] for twenty nights of Ramadan just as he prayed during the rest of the year, but when the last ten entered, he would exert himself. This hadith - we do not know it to be narrated from Abu Bakrah except from the hadith of Uyaynah, from his father, from Abu Bakrah.
