حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ نا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ نا قَزَعَةُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جُرْحَةٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَحْمُودٍ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَيْسَ بِالْكَذَّابِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَنَمَا خَيْرًا أَوْ قَالَ خَيْرًا وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ جُرْحَةَ رَوَى عَنْهُ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَقَزَعَةُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ إِنَّمَا رَوَاهُ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ لَيْسَ بِالْكَذَّابِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَنَمَا خَيْرًا أَوْ قَالَ خَيْرًا وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ جُرْحَةَ رَوَى عَنْهُ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَقَزَعَةُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ إِنَّمَا رَوَاهُ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ
English Translation
Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: Sa'id ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: Qaza'ah ibn Suwayd narrated to us from Yahya ibn Jurhah from al-Zuhri from Mahmud from Shaddad ibn Aws (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'He is not a liar who reconciles between people and conveys good — or says good.' This hadith — we do not know it to be narrated from Shaddad ibn Aws from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with this chain. Yahya ibn Jurhah — Ibn Jurayj and Qaza'ah ibn Suwayd narrated from him. This hadith was actually narrated by al-Zuhri from Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman from his mother Umm Kulthum.
