وَأَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَأَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْكَآبَةَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَأْتِنِي مُنْذُ ثَلَاثٍ وَإِنِّي أَرَى جَرْوًا فِي الْبَيْتِ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ فَتَبَدَّا بِهِ جِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِمَ لَمْ تَأْتِنِي فَقَالَ إِنَّا لَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا تَصَاوِيرُ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَى الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ
English Translation
And Bishr ibn Adam informed us, he said: 'Uthman ibn 'Umar informed us, he said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b informed us, from al-Harith ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Kurayb, from Usamah ibn Zayd, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and saw dejection on his face. It was said to him (about it), and he said: 'Jibril (peace be upon him) has not come to me for three days, and I see a puppy in the house.' He ordered it to be taken out, and then Jibril (peace be upon him) appeared to him. The Prophet said: 'Why did you not come?' He said: 'We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or images.' We do not know of al-Harith ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrating from Kurayb from Usamah except this hadith.
