English Translation
Muhammad ibn Isma'il ibn Samurah narrated to us, he stated: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, he stated: Asim — meaning al-Ahwal — narrated to us from Abu Uthman from Hadrat Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him), he stated: We were commanded that when we see someone calling out for a lost item in the mosque, we should say to him: «May you not find it.» This hadith — we do not know it to be narrated from Abdullah except with this chain of transmission.
