English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah, from Aisha, who said: I never saw the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) pray the optional night prayer while sitting until he was old in age. He would recite while sitting, and when thirty or forty verses remained of the surah, he would stand and recite them, then bow.
