أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ جَمِيعًا قَالَا ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لِأَزْوَاجِهِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ هَذِهِ ثُمَّ ظُهُورُ الْحُصْرِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ فِي حَجِّ عَائِشَةَ ؓ وَغَيْرِهَا مِنْ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؓنَّ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ دَلَالَةٌ عَلَى أَنَّ الْمُرَادَ مِنْ هَذَا الْخَبَرِ وُجُوبُ الْحَجِّ عَلَيْهِنَّ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً كَمَا بَيَّنَ وُجُوبَهُ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ مَرَّةً لَا الْمَنْعُ مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ عَلَيْهِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
English Translation
Abu Waqid al-Laythi said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say to his wives during the Farewell Pilgrimage: This, then staying upon the mats (i.e., stay at home after this Hajj).' The Shaykh (al-Bayhaqi) said: Aisha's Hajj and that of the other Mothers of the Believers after the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) indicates that what was meant by this report is the obligation of Hajj upon them once, as he clarified its obligation upon men once, not the prohibition of performing it more than once.
