أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ الرَّمْلِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ يَوْمًا تَصُومُهُ قُرَيْشٌ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ الْإِسْلَامُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ شَاءَ صَامَهُ وَمَنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَهُ
English Translation
'Umar ibn al-Khattab reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When the night comes from here, and the day departs from here, and the sun has set, the fasting person has broken his fast.'
