أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ وَكَتَبَ إِلَى كَثِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيِّ يُخْبِرُ عَنْ رُبَيْحِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ؓ قَالَ جَاءَ رِجَالٌ مِنَ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا أُولُو أَمْوَالٍ فَهَلْ يَجُوزُ عَنَّا مِن�� زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ؟ قَالَ لَا فَأَدُّوهَا عَنِ الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ وَالذَّكَرِ وَالْأُنْثَى وَالْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ
English Translation
Abu Zakariyya ibn Abi Ishaq and Abu Bakr ibn al-Hasan al-Qadi informed us... from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: Men from the Bedouins came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we are people of wealth. Can we pay money instead of zakah al-fitr?' He said: 'No, pay it on behalf of the young and old, male and female, free and slave - a sa' of dates, or a sa' of raisins, or a sa' of barley, or a sa' of dried curd.'
