English Translation
Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us: Abu Dawud narrated to us: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us: Mu'adh ibn Hisham narrated to us: My father narrated from Qatada, from Sa'id ibn Abi al-Hasan who said: The pommel of the sword of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was of silver. Qatada said: I have not seen anyone confirm this. The Sheikh said: This is mursal, and it is the preserved narration. It has also been narrated through another route, connected, from Anas.
