أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ أَبُو الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَجَعَلَ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ فَرَمَى بِهِ وَاتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us: Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq narrated to us: Abu al-Muthanna narrated to us: Musaddad narrated to us: Yahya narrated from Ubaydullah, from Nafi', from Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made a ring of gold and placed its stone facing his palm. People made rings like it, then he threw it away and made a ring of silver or a ring of silver.
