وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ أنبأ مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ أَخَذَ مِنَ الْأَعْطِيَةِ الزَّكَاةَ مُعَاوِيَةُ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ وَالْعَطَاءُ فَائِدَةٌ وَلَا زَكَاةَ فِيهِ حَتَّى يَحُولَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ
English Translation
Mu'adh said to the people of Yemen: 'Bring me a garment or a fabric as charity instead of barley and millet, for it is easier for you and better for the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Madinah.'
