وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ثنا عَلِيٌّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ كَانَ أَبِي يَقُولُ إِذَا مَسَّ رِفْغَهُ أَوْ أُنْثَيَيْهِ أَوْ فَرْجَهُ فَلَا يُصَلِّي حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ وَرُوِيَ ذَلِكَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ مُدْرَجًا فِي الْحَدِيثِ وَهُوَ وَهْمٌ وَالصَّوَابُ أَنَّهُ مِنْ قَوْلِ عُرْوَةَ وَالْقِيَاسُ ��َنْ لَا وُضُوءَ فِي الْمَسِّ وَإِنَّمَا اتَّبَعْنَا السُّنَّةَ فِي إِيجَابِهِ بِمَسِّ الْفَرْجِ فَلَا يَجِبُ بِغَيْرِهِ
English Translation
Urwah's father used to say: "If one touches his groin, testicles, or private part, he should not pray until he performs wudu." This is Urwah's own statement (mawquf), not from the Prophet. The Shaykh said that the basis for requiring wudu is the Sunnah regarding touching the private part specifically, and other parts do not require wudu.
