أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُسْنَدِيُّ ثنا حِرْمِيُّ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ؛ فَإِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّ الْإِسْلَامِ وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us... from Waqid ibn Muhammad ibn Zayd ibn Abdullah ibn Umar who said: I heard my father narrating from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish the prayer, and pay the zakat. If they do that, they have protected their blood and wealth from me, except by the right of Islam, and their reckoning is with Allah.'
