أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَاعِدٍ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَكْتُومٍ ثنا أَبُو عَتَّابٍ سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا عَامٌ بِأَمْطَرَ مِنْ عَامٍ وَلَا هَبَّتْ جَنُوبٌ إِلَّا سَالَ وَادِي كَذَا رُوِيَ مَرْفُوعًا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَالصَّحِيحُ مَوْقُوفٌ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us... from Abu al-Ahwas, from Abdullah [ibn Mas'ud] who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'No year has more rain than another, and no south wind blows without causing a valley to flow.' This was narrated as marfu' (attributed to the Prophet) with this chain, but the correct version is mawquf (a statement of the Companion).
