أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أنبأ أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ثنا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبَّادُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ أَنَّ عَمَّهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَرَجَ بِالنَّاسِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى يَسْتَسْقِي لَهُمْ فَقَامَ فَدَعَا قَائِمًا ثُمَّ تَوَجَّهَ قِبَلَ الْقِبْلَةِ وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ فَسُقُوا وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَدِيبُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَدَعَا اللهَ قَائِمًا وَقَالَ فَاسْقُوا
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us... from Abbad ibn Tamim, that his uncle who was one of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) informed him that the Prophet (peace be upon him) went out with the people to the prayer ground seeking rain. He stood and supplicated while standing, then turned toward the qiblah and reversed his cloak, and they were given rain. Abu Amr al-Adib narrated to us from al-Isma'ili... who mentioned it similarly, except he said: 'He supplicated to Allah while standing' and said: 'They were given rain.'
