وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنُ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ أنبأ جَدِّي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أنبأ جَرِيرٌ وَوَكِيعٌ قَالَا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ انْكَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا
English Translation
Abu Salih ibn Abi Tahir al-Anbari narrated to us... from Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari who said: The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The people said: 'It has eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for their life, but they are two signs from among the signs of Allah. When you see them, pray.'
