English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz, Abu Zakariyya, and Abu Bakr ibn al-Husayn informed us... from Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani who said: I heard Ata' ibn Abi Rabah say: I heard Ibn Abbas say: I testify concerning the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that he prayed before the sermon on the day of Eid, then delivered the sermon. He noticed that the women could not hear, so he came to them, reminded and admonished them, and commanded them to give charity. Bilal was with him, holding his garment like this, and the women began throwing their earrings and things.
