أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَدِيبُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أنبأ أَبُو هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ يُقْسِمُ قَسَمًا أَنَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {هَذَانِ خَصْمَانِ اخْتَصَمُوا فِي رَبِّهِمْ} [الحج 19] نَزَلَتْ فِي الَّذِينَ بَرَزُوا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حَمْزَةُ وَعَلِيٌّ وَعُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ وَعُتْبَةُ وَشَيْبَةُ ابْنَا رَبِيعَةَ وَالْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ الدَّوْرَقِيِّ وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ زُرَارَةَ البيهقي ٦١١٦: عن
English Translation
Abu Amr Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Adib informed us... from Qays ibn Abbad who said: I heard Abu Dharr swear an oath that this verse {These two opponents disputed about their Lord} [al-Hajj 19] was revealed concerning those who engaged in single combat on the day of Badr: Hamzah, Ali, and Ubaydah ibn al-Harith against Utbah, Shaybah the sons of Rabi'ah, and al-Walid ibn Utbah. Al-Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih from Ya'qub al-Dawraqi, and Muslim narrated it from Amr ibn Zurarah.
