وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ دَرَسْتَوَيْهِ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي مَرْحُومٍ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ تَرَكَ اللِّبَاسَ وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ تَوَاضُعًا لِلَّهِ ﷻ دَعَاهُ اللهُ ﷻ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ يُخَيِّرُهُ مِنْ حُلَلِ الْإِيمَانِ فَيَلْبَسُ أَيَّهَا شَاءَ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Fadl informed us... from Sahl ibn Mu'adh al-Juhani, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever abandons wearing fine clothing while being able to do so, out of humility before Allah the Almighty, Allah will call him on the Day of Resurrection before all of creation and give him the choice of the garments of faith to wear whichever he wishes.
