أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي أنبا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ أنبا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُومُ إِذَا خَطَبَ عَلَى عَصًا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَكَانَ يَعْتَمِدُ عَلَيْهَا اعْتِمَادًا
English Translation
Abu Zakariyya informed us... from al-Shafi'i... from Malik... from Damra... from 'Ubaydullah... from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to recite in the two 'Eid prayers and the Friday prayer Surah al-A'la and Surah al-Ghashiyah. And if the 'Eid and Friday fell on the same day, he would recite them in both.
