وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي الثِّقَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ كَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْمِيَاهِ فِيمَا بَيْنَ الشَّامِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ جَمِّعُوا إِذَا بَلَغْتُمْ أَرْبَعِينَ
English Translation
Al-Shafi'i said: 'A trustworthy narrator informed me from Sulayman ibn Musa that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz wrote to the people of the water stations between Syria and Makkah: Establish the Friday prayer when you reach forty.'
