وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَوْه��بٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ ثنا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ إِذَا زَاغَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَحِلَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَإِنْ يَرْتَحِلْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ لِلْعَصْرِ وَفِي الْمَغْرِبِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ إِنْ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَحِلَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ وَإِنِ ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ أَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ لِلْعِشَاءِ ثُمَّ جَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا
English Translation
Mu'adh ibn Jabal narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) during the expedition of Tabuk, if the sun had passed its zenith before he departed, would combine Dhuhr and Asr. If he departed before the sun passed its zenith, he would delay Dhuhr until he stopped for Asr. Regarding Maghrib, similarly: if the sun set before he departed, he would combine Maghrib and Isha. If he departed before the sun set, he would delay Maghrib until he stopped for Isha, then combine them.
